Michael J. Smith is a Project Engagement Manager with LoBue. His responsibilities include Process and Organization Consulting and Program Management. Michael’s work experience in financial services and management consulting spans 20 years in senior management positions with a focus in building centralized call centers, collections, and loan originations facilities. Prior to joining the LoBue, Michael was a Senior Vice President for a global bank where he held management positions in a wide range of consumer businesses, including credit card, auto roadside assistant services, cross-sell marketing, mortgage, and international consumer lending.
A sample of Michael’s career highlights include the enhancement of a KYC/AML monitoring initiative for a top-20 U.S. mortgage originations and servicing business. Lead manager for a successful implementation of CFPB guidelines for a SPOC mortgage servicer. Project Manager for an Ohio based merchant processor that utilized LoBue’s program methodology to achieve $4.4 million in operational savings. Michael is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and earned a BBA from Texas Christian University and MBA from the University of Dallas - Gupta College of Business.
Outside of work, Michael served as an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Dallas Gupta College of Business, leading graduate students with non-business degree backgrounds through introductory courses in Business Strategy, Marketing, and Operations Management. He has also served as a volunteer and board member for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Fort Worth, Texas, a not-for-profit organization that matches adult community volunteers with children of single parents. While associated as a board member, he steered an initiative to improve the time to match “Big” and “Littles” by 5 weeks, 50% improvement. On weekends, Michael is an avid rower with White Rock Rowing Club or can be found supporting his son’s basketball and soccer games.
